Clinic Policy Updates

Regarding COVID-19, and the announcements made by the Ontario Government on March 9, 2022.

First off, I want to thank you for your continued support and kindness over the last 2 years. We have all been through so much and have endured many ups and downs. I truly appreciate that you have been so understanding of our mandated policies and procedures.

We have recently received communications from our College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), regarding the announcements that the Ontario Government made on March 9, 2022. I have outlined below the updates that effect us and how our clinic will be adapting to them. If you would like to see the full communications regarding the CMTO directives, you can do so here.

Masks:

As of March 21, masks will no longer be required, except for public transit, health care settings, long-term care homes and congregate care settings. CMTO considers all RMT practice settings to be health care settings for the purposes of the masking mandate. RMTs will continue to wear surgical/procedural masks and clients will be expected to wear a mask until April 27, 2022.
-CMTO

Since RMT’s are considered Health Care Providers in Ontario, we will be keeping our mask policies and procedures until further notice. There has been mention of mask mandates lifted in April, however until those details have been finalized we will be continuing with masks. Please wear a clean and dry mask to every appointment and if for any reason you may require a replacement mask for your appointment please let me know, as we have some on hand.

We also ask that you wash or sanitize your hands once you enter the clinic for your appointment.

Screenings:

Screening needs to take place once - just before treatment. RMTs should continue screening clients using the Ministry of Health’s Patient Screening Guidance document
-CMTO

We are no longer required to perform two screenings and are now required to only screen when you arrive for your appointment. As of Monday, March 21st 2022, your screening form is no longer required for your appointment. I request that you inform me at your earliest convenience if you have any symptoms of any illness, even if it is not COVID-19 related. Even if that is the same day of your appointment please contact me to discuss steps moving forward. This helps ensure that I can remain healthy to continue to provide treatment and reduces the risk of transmission through the clinic.

I also want to mention that the screening forms are set up automatically with appointments, I will be working to delete these forms from appointments that are already booked.  However this will take time and one may be missed here or there. I apologize if you receive one in error and if you do, please disregard the email. This will not impact your appointment.

Contact Tracing:

Maintaining a roster of all visitors and asking clients to arrive alone, or wait in their vehicles, is no longer required.
-CMTO

We will be discontinuing the need to wait for a text message to enter the clinic for your scheduled appointment. We generally allot 15min between appointments, this is time to finish up with the previous client, clean, and change over the room for your appointment. With that being said, I do ask that you plan to enter the building no more that 5 minutes prior to your appointment. I will send you a text if I am running behind schedule for any reason.

If at any point you have any questions regarding our clinic’s policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 please feel free to ask at your next appointment or reach out via email. When we have directives regarding masks, I will reach out again outlining how our clinic will manage the change.

Again, I am sincerely grateful for your understanding and support throughout the last 2 years. I hope we are able to move forward with continued understanding, grace and love in our hearts.

Stay safe and keep well.
