Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy for Late Notice / Missed Appointments.

Since specific appointment times have been scheduled for your Massage Therapy Treatment with Heather Rivers H.B.Kin, RMT (Rivers RMT), arriving promptly will allow for the therapist to assess and treat Client's for their fully scheduled time.

Late arrivals may receive treatment for only the remainder of the appointment time scheduled, this includes all intake and assessment that is necessary to provide a safe and effective treatment, while being fully financially responsible for the scheduled treatment time. Rivers RMT will strive to accommodate when possible as we understand there are extenuating circumstances.

A Reminder email is scheduled 72-hours hours prior and a text message 24-hours prior to the scheduled appointment time, however should not be relied on as Client's are responsible for their scheduled appointment in the event of technical difficulties.  

Rivers RMT requires 24-hour notice to cancel any scheduled appointment.

If for any reason Client's are unable to make their scheduled appointment time, please contact Heather Rivers RMT as soon as possible via phone (905)924-3719 or email, riversrmt@gmail.com

If cancellation notice occurs within 24-hours of a Client's scheduled appointment time, the Client's will be responsible for 50% of the cost of the scheduled appointment (see fee schedule below).  In the event that no notice was given and the Client does not show, the Client will be responsible for 100% of the cost of the scheduled appointment.

I, Heather Rivers H.BKin, RMT, pledge to uphold the above cancellation policies to you as well.  If for any reason, I need to reschedule your appointment I will attempt to do so at least 24 hours prior to your appointment (with exceptions of extenuating circumstances).

Cancellation of Appointment due to COVID-19

Since Rivers RMT will email the virtual COVID-19 Screening Document for you to REVIEW AND COMPLETE no later than 7pm the day before your appointment, the cancellation policy will be upheld under the following guidelines:

  1. If at the time of completing the screening you are unable to pass or feel ANY symptoms of ANY illness, please contact Rivers RMT to discuss next steps, including possible cancellation of appointment. (May not warrant activation of the cancellation policy).

  2. If you feel any symptoms upon waking up on the morning of your appointment or throughout the day prior to it, please notify Rivers RMT immediately to discuss next steps. (May fall under extenuating circumstances of cancellation policy)

  3. If you complete your virtual COVID-19 screening on time, however arrive at your appointment unable to pass the verbal screening causing the appointment to be cancelled, will result in the activation of the above cancellation policy (you will be financially responsible for the cancellation of the scheduled appointment).

Heather Rivers HBKin, RMT, understands scenarios and circumstances in our lives can be unpredictable, we just ask that Client's notify the clinic as soon as possible when they are unable to make your scheduled appointment. I ask that mindfulness be given to my schedule and health so I can continue to provide treatment for everyone. Arriving ill to your appointment, will not allow for you to receive optimal treatment and may put undue stress on your body as well as puts therapists and clinics at risk of becoming sick, transmitting illness and/or requiring to discontinue all treatments.

Online Booking Policy

When booking online,

some personal information will need to be obtained. Please be sure to include your preferred email address, as all initial paperwork will be sent to this address, please be sure to fill out this paperwork prior to your treatment time to allow for efficiency. This information will not be seen by anyone other than the RMT or its employees and used solely for the purpose of booking and treatment.
